A Memory in Poetry: My Long Kiss Good Bye

My Long Kiss Good Bye

My heart died
Yet I still drew breath

My soul cried
But not a single tear dripped

My life died
Yet I still continued to live

Breath after breath
Mixed with chest compressions
Our longest kiss yet

But there you were
Beautifully naked
Beneath me

Dead

The woman
That showed me there was a woman left on the planet
That love was worth it
That everything before had been worth it

Kept me feeling great
Stood with me through all things
Embraced and loved her insane husband
Kept the humans safe

Gone

The next day’s became opaque
My flat effect when I called to tell everyone
She had passed away

I felt nothing
And felt the rawness of everything

The one thing
That made everything worthy and right
Kept happy even through the rough times

She fell that night
I lost my life
My one miracle died

Even knowing
And now having experienced
Her presence
Both sadistic and supportive

I would gladly trade me and my life
For the woman that made everyone
Better and smile

Just to end with a wish
That day she laid there on the metal table
That as her loving husband
That last kiss upon her lips
Would be my trading places
Parting gift

My very last kiss to
My Chocolate Doll
The one who made me better
The Titan I married
My Poetic Warrior Priestess

My Infinity
You still hold my heart
In awe and reverence

As we share
Our eternity
With a
Long kiss
Forever
